Why PGC GridPlate?

Why Does GridPlate Exist?

For years I struggled with the same fixturing challenges many CNC router owners face. Traditional spoilboards and T-track systems work, but they often require custom fixtures, time-consuming setups, and compromise between holding power and flexibility.

I wanted a system that combined the versatility of a spoilboard with the repeatability of a fixture plate.

GridPlate was designed to provide a dense network of locating and mounting points that make it easier to position workpieces, fixtures, fences, and clamps exactly where they're needed. Instead of building new fixtures for every project, users can quickly reconfigure their setup and get back to making parts.

The result is a modular workholding ecosystem that helps reduce setup time, improve repeatability, and make one-off or small-batch production more efficient.

What Problem Does It Solve?

Many CNC router users spend more time figuring out how to hold a part than machining it. GridPlate provides repeatable mounting and locating points across the entire work surface, making fixturing faster, more flexible, and more reliable. Combined with an expanding ecosystem of rail clamps, precision fences, corner stops, bench dogs, and other accessories, users can quickly configure setups for everything from one-off prototypes to small-batch production. Referenced directly from the PGC GridPlate locating system, accessories are manufactured to achieve less than 0.0005" repeatability, helping ensure consistent setups and accurate part positioning.

Why Aluminum Threads?

Traditional threaded inserts can loosen or pull out, while screws driven directly into MDF eventually strip the material. GridPlate uses a precision-machined aluminum core with directly threaded mounting holes, providing a stronger and more durable mounting system designed for years of repeated use.

How Accurate Is the System?

Precision fences, corner stops, and other locating accessories reference directly from the GridPlate locating system. Measured repeatability of less than 0.0005" allows setups to be recreated quickly and consistently.

Who Is It For?

GridPlate is designed for CNC router owners who want a more capable workholding system for woodworking, plastics, aluminum, prototyping, and small-batch production.
